Loren Lukens

Loren Lukens' porcelain pottery is for functional use on the table or aesthetic use on the wall. Plates, bowls, teapots and wall platters are thrown, hand built and slip cast. Loren works in his Seattle studio which overlooks Puget Sound.
High-fire reduction firing allows saturation of color and glaze/clay interaction, especially with iron and titanium bearing glazes. It also allows the possibility of unpredictable aventurine crystal formations, as well as dramatic and somewhat elusive copper red.

Loren graduated from Bethany College in Kansas with a BAE.
